Art in the Park
The Covid19 Pandemic has thrown everyone a curveball and regretfully the Oakville Art Society has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Art in the Park event scheduled for Monday, 3rd August. This is not a step we have taken lightly but it is the only socially-responsible option during this virus crisis. Given the current guidance of the health authorities we believe this is the right decision to take as an organization in order to ensure the health and safety of our exhibitors, our visitors, our volunteers and the local community.
We've decided against putting Art in the Park online, to preserve it as one of the most amazing, wonderful outdoor art shows. Stay tuned for some exciting news regarding an alternative “virtual” art event. We will be announcing our new idea shortly!
Thank you for your previous and future support as we plan now for a “better than ever” Art in the Park 2021.
In 1965 the Society created Art in the Park to promote local artists and artisans, and today this show has blossomed into Oakville’s premiere art event.
Featuring more than 175 artists and artisans from across the country, the event attracts thousands of people to the Bronte waterfront.
Every medium is represented, from traditional oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings to glass, ceramics, photography, mixed media, sculptures and fine jewellery.
Visitors will get to meet the artists and learn about the works they have created.
Located at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park,
Bronte Road and Ontario Street
Art in the Park has a reputation for being the best run art show in Ontario.
Admission paid to get into Art in the Park Art plays a crucial role in the life of the Oakville Art Society. It affords the OAS an opportunity to raise funds to subsidize programming and act as a venue for furthering interest and knowledge of the world of art.
Children under 12 are free.
